Jim Zorn and Mike Holmgren together again?

I can see Holmgren going to Washington as a GM and I can see Snyder firing Zorn as he is the impatient type, but can you really see this?
Some people close to Holmgren said it’s not like the door on 2009 has been entirely slammed shut. When presented with this idea, of Zorn working under [...]

Are coaches taking back control?

That is what Gregg Doyle of CBS Sportsline wonders.  He asks this because of the benching of Vernon Davis by Mike Singletary and the verbal confrontation Jim Zorn had with Clinton Portis.  Check out this from the end of the story…
Singletary tore into Davis, his incredibly talented tight end, after Davis picked up a showboating [...]

Jim Zorn and Clinton Portis, so far so good

You would think these two strong personalities might not mix…especially when Jim Zorn got in the grill of Clinton Portis to confront him on a mistake.  But on Sunday in the game versus the Lions, the result was positive.  From the Washington Post…
It was a small mistake, not having his headgear in order and not [...]

More love for Jim Zorn

The Redskins dropped the ball last week to the Rams and yet the love fest for Jimmy Z continues.  Check out what Sally Jenkins of the Washington Post had to say.

Rookie Coach Success

Did you realize that…

Jim Zorn has the Redskins at 3-1.
John Harbaugh has the Ravens at 2-1 and the one loss was a well played game in Pitisburg.
Mike Smith has the Atlanta Falcons at 2-2 and playing respectable football.
Tony Sparano of the Dolphins pulled off a great win over the Pats and has them playing better.

What [...]

Thomas Boswell is liking Jim Zorn’s….style

Among other things.
From the Washington Post….
Regardless of what the Eagles bring, Zorn already has begun to show his sideline style, his demeanor as a coach. Where some leaders are icy or sublimate emotions like Gibbs, Zorn slams his play list to the ground when a third down play fails.
But the 55-year-old rookie also has a [...]

Cardinals impressed with the progress of Jason Cambell

In the “good news to the ears of Redskins fans everywhere department”…
Last year, Campbell had passed for a meager 95 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in a 21-19 win over the Cardinals. And despite a prolific performance against the New Orleans Saints one week before, Rolle said he still wasn’t sold on Campbell’s [...]
