Calvin Pace throws his former coach under the bus
Calvin Pace of the New York Jets did not have a whole lot of positive things to say about former coach Dennis Green. Check them out.
Asked about low points from his Cardinals days, Pace told the Times: “There were so many. It set me back. I didn’t ever think I’d live to see the light of day out there. … I’m just glad that I got out.”
During a conference call Thursday, Pace said those thoughts were directed at the Cardinals previous regime, not the current one.
“It wasn’t necessarily the organization. I just felt when the coach change (from Dave McGinnis to Green) happened I got put on the back burner,” Pace said. “When you get a coaching change they don’t have any loyalty to guys. They want to get their people in, speaking about the Dennis Green era. That’s it really. I don’t think the organization had anything to do with that, it’s more the coaching staff. I’m not going to say I was out there just tearing it up, but I felt like I could have contributed more with more opportunity. But I don’t dwell on that. It is what it is, and it happens, and I can move past it and move through it.” (Source)
